Description of the painting:
The figures, the house and the landscape are intermingled with their earthy colour tones. and they are smoothed with clear accents. The delicate lines and the heavy strokes testify an application of the colour differentiated and masterful.

Van Gogh started to paint dead nature pictures after the priest of the village forbid the habitants to pose for the paintings.
