Vincent Van Gogh portraits

Vincent Van Gogh painted many portraits during his short life as a painter. The difference in his portraits is that, unlike the contemporary painters who represented the rich and beautiful only, Van Gogh prefered the portraits of the reality. He did portraits of poor farmers with their simple clothes and their sad faces. He wanted to represent reality of the cruel life, not just the rich and extravagant lives of the priviledge.
